    Map Changes

Tough call but I would say let's slowly get back to a larger map. I take a few days to get set up with a permanent base and by that time all the better build sites are reserved. I like to build on islands, close to rivers and on the top of hills as much as anyone but that is not what's left after even one day. A larger map gives me a better shot but I suppose it's pretty easy to just throw up another 10 or 20 TCs. Every wipe I pass by all the reserved sites and so many of them are never even used! It's one of the quirks of EZ that I find hard to understand.
  2. Well I enjoyed the pickle farming. I guess everyone has their own way of playing and do what appeals to them. I only had around 10 recyclers at the most. Did 4 this time but it just didn't produce any profit. I also buy PJs and give away most of what I make. I play by myself and I'm still learning to land the heli. I've given up on ever doing Brad again. Most of the stuff that produces anything beyond a crate are beyond my capabilities. I used to spend a lot of time mining and managing the personnel quarries but that stuff is long gone. So I'm not your typical player. I'm trying to adjust but it seems like the game is headed in a direction that doesn't cater to my style of play. I also find that if I do make a comment there's always someone there to tell me I'm wrong. Ok enough bitching.
  3. I've said this before on other issues but once again I think the response to pickle problem was just too extreme. I think there needs to be some way for players with less resources to make a little scrap/money. It went from way to much to basically nothing. Seems like somewhere in the middle there would be an option that would keep the overdoing it down but still provide a way to get ahead for those who do not buy PJs.
  4. I'm not quite sure we are all talking about the same thing but the change I dont like is the lost ability to move your inventory in one click between primary inventory, backpack and containers. You can still "loot all" but not move things the other way. Sounds like a fix is coming so the sooner the better.
  5. I've seen people doing this. I think as long as you have a stone base or better and your loot is protected somewhat you should be OK. Ive found damage to my base from the heli but not enough to destroy my base. I think if you only build to twig level you shouldn't be surprised if something bad happens.
  6. I'm all for this idea. I like the look of lanterns and lamps better than the current electric lights.
  7. I wish my experience was closer to what some of you have. Maybe it is me. Now I'm fighting with the Admins and that's never been a thing before. I have been considering just not playing for a while. Let my patience recharge. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post your thoughts. I'm really surprised by the subs and vips behavior being no different from the blues. Seems like most of my negative encounters are not with the regulars. Population has been down a little and things seem more normal now. I appreciate all the work the Admins are doing. I know they are trying.
  8. Thanks @alexanightfire. Yes maybe that's it this time. I wasn't saying farming trees was against any rules. I guess I'm hopeful that we can develop more of a community over time where even things that are not against any rules but can be annoying to others are discouraged. I for example try to cut trees over a large area without taking trees around people's bases and not too many trees in any one location. I also leave behind the Birch? trees. The white barked ones just to have something around. I know trees are meaningless to most so it's always going to be an uphill battle but I do have hope for that tree TC. LOL
  9. While players not following the rules is annoying there's one issue that crushes me far more than any other. Logging in expecting to find yourself in the same forest you were in when you logged out only to find that every tree near your base is gone. The last time this was an issue was the last time I complained about people not following the rules. So it seems to me like the clear cutting might be retaliation? Who knows. Could have just been a player discovering the chain saw for the first time. It would be awesome if some day you could obtain a TC that protected the trees around your base also. Just one layer. Enough to give you the idea that you're in an area that has trees. Or maybe a server that is a real community where the players all understand what is important to other players. Where everyone agrees to the rules and there are real consequences for not following them. This would be very valuable to me and I would happily pay a fee for this service. Otherwise EZ is a great sandbox to play in and I really do appreciate the service I do get here. Thanks to Death and all the admins.
  10. I couldn't disagree more with Skudrunners comments. Anyway as I've said before, when things are going this well for EZ there's not going to be much effort made. I've complained in the past. Made suggestions. Tried every approach I could think of with the misbehavers. For all my effort things have only gotten worse. I just make do and hope for better days. Kinds like real life.
  11. I follow the rules here. I'm respectful and helpful to my fellow players. I've been playing here most days for around 3+ years. 90% of the people here are fine and cause no problems. Almost everyday I deal with some sort of disrespect or others not following the rules. I don't complain about it anymore. I used to. I suppose I have officially complained maybe 10 times. Never has it left me felling like anything had been done or that my efforts would help curb the problem. Now I just live with it by ignoring it. If it gets too ridiculous I just teleport away. This is OK and I love playing here overall so life goes on. However the problem increases with more players. Some recent new players are world class assholes. One particularly evil player can cause a lot of havoc. This problem will continue until EZ decides to make a stand on it. I was hopeful for progress but since the holidays RUST PVE has exploded in popularity. When things are going so well overall our requests for help will fall on deaf ears. I'm afraid this problem is going to get worse before it gets better. When EZ decides it's effecting their business then we will be heard.
  12. I lost some more last night so my best guess is that I'm still down 32K after Death gave me 20K yesterday. Thanks.
  13. The Rust devs are amazing. There's been so much new stuff this year. I'm way behind in learning all the in and outs of the farming, vehicles, helis, etc. A section that anyone could post on to pass along the things they have learned would be really helpful. Now there are lots of existing places to go for info but this would be a catch all for RustEZ players. I just recently discovered the mining trick when hitting nodes. Stuff like that. I'm still trying to figure out all the changes with the quarries. Like what's the best place to set a quarry now? What range of production can you find with the survey charges? Is it better to set in multiple spots or just upgrade in one spot? All those types of types of concerns could be answered by someone who's willing to pass along what they have learned. Maybe just a new section within the forums? Anyway I spend a lot of time looking around the site to get my questions answered. Maybe there are too many places now? Just some ideas. Thanks.
  14. The zombies definitely make the server unique. Especially when you first spawn the fear getting overrun is omnipresent. I think that sacrificing some of the routine day time zombies for more night time and/or heavier concentrations of the undead would be good. Making them spawn in a more random way would also help the surprise factor. Thanks.
  15. I am also a tree hugger. Larger denser forests would be good. At least one big forest would be nice. Thanks.
  16. I didn't really have any specific suggestions for action so I thought this would be a good place to put this. I've noticed that there are several long time players that make it a point to help out newer players, share the wealth they have accumulated and just generally be a positive force on the servers. It would be nice if these players were recognized in some way. I think of them as sheepdogs of a sort. RustEZ Ambassadors? Sheepdogs? Anyway not really sure what can be done. The Admins are really good on all the servers but these players I'm thinking of can take more time to help people and share their wealth without a conflict of interest. I think they do a lot to create a welcoming environment which is what new players are really looking for. Thanks
  17. It's not possible to take damage. Yes they are wasting bullets.
  18. Yesterday I wasted a bunch of time dealing with players shooting me. I get shot once or twice quite often as I'm sure everyone else does. I'm always a little surprised but I usually just continue on or transport away if it continues. Every several weeks or so I run into a player or group of players who take it beyond the occasional shot. I was trying to build a new base in a new area to me yesterday so I didn't really want to leave that spot but I did eventually. The shooting went on for some time. So here's my suggestion. I would be interested in playing on a server that has some sort of a white list process. Really just a server where the rules are taken seriously and bad behavior will result in you losing your privilege to play on that server. Other servers could continue on as they are. Or if that's not possible just do away with the rule. As it is now the Admins do not want to deal with it and I don't blame them. I don't want to deal with it either. Actually on Scourge it seems like the Admins have no problem with it at all. Maybe just state that players are not able to damage other players and leave it at that. Then I could at least shoot back without breaking any rules myself. I'm an old dude but I enjoy playing with the kids. I get a lot of laughs just reading chat but a group of unloved 14 year olds can be a big pain in the ass if they want to be. It just doesn't seem like a good business practice to allow players who do not spend any money on the site run off players who spend quite a bit. I actually think the whole problem would go away if a stand were taken on the issue as things are now. Ok that's it. Thanks.
  19. Thanks for the response. The cars have made it a little easier to get around. I never could get the hang of flying the heli. I guess its too late now.
  20. I feel like the game has become a little too slanted to those that fly. Months ago I made it to the top of dome for the first time only to see a player in a heli fly off with the loot. Since then I always seem to be beat to crates by those that fly. I think the anti-aircraft weapon was created for a reason. I'm guessing there is not much that can be done but if there is I would be for it. I also feel like the same people get the prime base locations wipe after wipe due to their ability to scout quickly. I'm always amazed (and a little jealous) at how quickly people get set up on wipe day. Some of you guys are just awesome at Rust PVE. I'm not expecting much here either but maybe there's something that could be done in the future to give us less aggressive types a chance. Thanks.
  21. So I have several ideas on ways to make this server better but the biggest idea and the one that I think would have the biggest impact on the players enjoyment level and EZs financial health would be an end game to give us all something to work towards. As we all know interest peaks at the wipe and then heads downward except for weekends and events. My idea would be to have a end of the wipe battle or game that would take some preparation throughout the wipe. This would give those involved something to work towards. I have a vision of what this would look like however I'm unsure what is possible from the game and mods as far as tweaking things to fit the game we would do. I also know we have a wide range of interests as players so it's difficult to please everyone. Basically I'm thinking a several hours long battle between 2-6 groups of players. PVP would be enabled but I think looting from players might be difficult for some so maybe only looting at the end once the battle has been won. Bases or castles could be built and supplied throughout the wipe. Maybe limited battles on Saturdays leading up to a final battle? The admins would need to be involved to keep things fair and balance the teams for a good competition. Anyone who didn't want to participate and everyone's own base would be off limits. Anyway there's a thousand different ways we could go with this. Maybe a comment from Death and the Admins on their thoughts and then we could come up with more details. Seems like the game would need some form of PVP to make it interesting enough but I have actually been against this in the past figuring there are lots of places to go for straight forward KOS PVP. I think PVP with some restrictions is the way to go now. What do you guys think?
  22. Nice job Death. I really appreciate the detailed and complete explanation. I hope this will keep Rust looking its best.
  23. Thanks so much for adjusting the changes. I'm a little lost on what exactly the production is like with the upgrades but I'll figure it out.
  24. Oh its one per resource so I guess 2 is all I get. This is a problem for me. I wish there was an alternative but I think this will end my time here. Thanks.
  25. As with most of the changes to mods I'm against such drastic changes. I can understand the need to adjust things as time goes on but to change things to this degree changes the way I will need to play the game. I don't use pipes and spend a large portion of my time mining. I usually run 6 to 12 mines but they're not running constantly and their impact to the surrounding environment is minimal. I place them to fit the area and would never just slam them in on an angle like so many I see. With only 2 Sulphur and 2 HQM I will not have much to do. I don't fence them in but after reading this maybe I should. I know more frequent, smaller changes is more work. I get that. We all play this game differently. I guess I'm just speaking up for those of us that play a lot. Is that not a good thing for EZ?
